Camping Up North

Samira

I opened my eyes to see the golden sunlight seeping into the tent. I tiredly unzipped the tent to step into the fresh, pine scented air. It was a perfect morning to go canoeing.Of course, before I got my hopes up on going to the lake to rent canoes, I would have to discuss it with my family. We started a glowing low flame, and before the long and tiring conversation, we prepared breakfast. The thought of eggs, toast and orange juice made me hungry! After breakfast, we began our either disappointing or wonderful battle on what the day would bring. Luckily, everyone agreed to go rent a canoe down by the lake. We got there, and as my parents paid for the canoe I looked into the shimmering water, deep in thought on what we would do tomorrow.

How to Be Prepared for Camping

Samira

When you have finished packing the usual clothes, shower supplies, and tent for your camping trip, think again about the worst case scenarios. Who knows, maybe you will change your mind? First, get a bag or two for all the extra supplies. Then, find some blankets, a tarp, and if you have one, a first aid kit. The blankets are just for those freezing unexpected nights. The tarp and rope can simply be tied to trees overtop your tent or picnic table where you cook. That way you don’t have to wait until the rain stops to eat. There, now you have everything you need for your camping trip, now just enjoy!

Narrative

Camping Up North

Samira Razek

I woke up in the morning, unzipped the tent, and stepped outside into a new day. It was a bright morning at Bon Echo Provincial Park. After my family also woke up,we started a roaring fire and decided what to do that day. It was a long and thoughtful conversation, because there was just so many exciting outdoor activities! There was; swimming at the beach, exploring the town near Algonquin, or going on a nature tour through the woods. I suggested going for a hike or to the lake to go on my first ever canoe ride! Some people say that camping is rough, but I think that the difficult part is deciding what to do.

Why You Should Camp Up North

Samira

Why go camping right next to a busy highway or tourist attraction? Camping is a great way to relax, spend time with your family, and just enjoy nature. Unlike camping nearby busy streets and rushing workers! If you camped up North, out of all the commotion, you are guaranteed to not ever want to go back to the city life! Also, the Northern Provincial Parks are wildlife habitats, which makes it great to bring your family too! Camping up North also allows you to enjoy and respect all the animals that live there. There are tons of attractions there like the Canadian Shield, The Big Apple, and some of the most popular lakes! That is why I think Camping up North, should now be on your list of things to do!
